یاقوت سرخ موزامبیک (Mozambique Ruby) از مهم‌ترین منابع یاقوت سرخ جهان است و به دلیل رنگ‌های قرمز زنده تا قرمز تیره، جایگاه ویژه‌ای در بازار گوهرهای رنگی دارد. این سنگ از خانواده کوراندوم است و رنگ قرمز آن عمدتاً به حضور کروم مرتبط است

مهم‌ترین ذخایر یاقوت موزامبیک در شمال کشور، به‌ویژه منطقه Montepuez، قرار دارند و از منابع برجسته یاقوت باکیفیت در بازار جهانی محسوب می‌شوند

ارزش‌گذاری جهانی آن بر اساس شدت و کیفیت رنگ، تون و اشباع، شفافیت، کیفیت تراش، وزن، منشأ و میزان بهسازی انجام می‌شود. نمونه‌های قرمز خالص و اشباع، با شفافیت مطلوب و بدون بهسازی یا با بهسازی قابل‌تأیید، معمولاً ارزش بالاتری دارند

Mozambique Ruby is one of the world’s most important sources of natural ruby and is highly regarded for its vivid to deep red colors. It belongs to the corundum family, with chromium being the primary element responsible for its red coloration.

The most important ruby deposits in Mozambique are located in the northern part of the country, particularly in the Montepuez region, which has become a major source of fine rubies in the international gemstone market

In the global market, ruby value is determined by color quality, tone and saturation, transparency, clarity, cutting quality, carat weight, origin, and degree of treatment. Vivid, saturated red stones with desirable transparency and minimal treatment generally command higher values

With a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, Mozambique Ruby is well suited for rings, pendants, earrings, and fine jewelry. Exceptional specimens also hold an important place among valuable colored gemstones and collector pieces
