آمیترین (Ametrine)

آمیترین یکی از گوهرهای طبیعی و جذاب خانواده کوارتز (Quartz) است که به‌دلیل نمایش هم‌زمان دو رنگ بنفش آمتیست و زرد تا طلایی سیترین در یک کریستال شناخته می‌شود. این پدیده رنگی طبیعی، نتیجه تفاوت شرایط اکسیداسیون آهن در بخش‌های مختلف کریستال کوارتز در طول شکل‌گیری آن است و ترکیب دو رنگ مجزا، ظاهری منحصربه‌فرد و بسیار چشمگیر به این گوهر می‌بخشد

مشهورترین منبع تجاری آمیترین طبیعی، معدن Anahí در بولیوی است. این منطقه به‌عنوان یکی از شناخته‌شده‌ترین منابع آمیترین در جهان شناخته می‌شود و نمونه‌های مرغوب آن معمولاً مرز مشخص و زیبایی میان بخش‌های بنفش و زرد دارند

در ارزیابی آمیترین، کیفیت و شدت هر دو رنگ، وضوح و تعادل مرز میان رنگ‌ها، شفافیت، پاکی، کیفیت تراش، وزن و اندازه اهمیت دارند. نمونه‌هایی که ترکیب متوازن و جذابی از بنفش و زرد طلایی، شفافیت بالا و تفکیک رنگی مشخص داشته باشند، از جذابیت بیشتری در بازار گوهرهای رنگی برخوردارند

آمیترین دارای سختی حدود ۷ در مقیاس موس است و به‌دلیل شفافیت و جلوه رنگی خاص خود، برای تراش‌های فَسِت و طراحی جواهرات استفاده می‌شود. این گوهر در انگشتر، آویز، گوشواره و جواهرات تزئینی کاربرد دارد و نمونه‌های طبیعی با تفکیک رنگی زیبا، مورد توجه مجموعه‌داران و علاقه‌مندان به گوهرهای دو‌رنگ قرار می‌گیرند

Ametrine is a natural and captivating gemstone from the Quartz family, distinguished by the natural presence of two colors—amethyst purple and citrine yellow to golden tones—within a single crystal. This distinctive coloration results from differences in the oxidation state of iron within different areas of the quartz crystal during its formation, creating a striking and naturally occurring two-color appearance

The most renowned commercial source of natural Ametrine is the Anahí Mine in Bolivia. This locality is recognized as one of the world’s most important sources of Ametrine, with fine specimens often displaying a distinct and visually appealing boundary between the purple and yellow zones

The quality and intensity of both colors, clarity and balance of the color division, transparency, clarity, cutting quality, carat weight, and size are important factors in evaluating Ametrine. Stones with a well-balanced combination of purple and golden-yellow hues, high transparency, and clearly defined color zoning are particularly attractive in the colored gemstone market. Cutting is also especially important, as the orientation of the cut can significantly influence the way the two colors are displayed

Ametrine has a hardness of approximately 7 on the Mohs scale. Its transparency and distinctive two-color appearance make it well suited to faceted cuts and fine jewelry. It is commonly used in rings, pendants, earrings, and decorative jewelry, while natural specimens with attractive color separation are also appreciated by collectors of unique two-color gemstones
